Job Title: Environmental Sample Preparer

At Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Sample Preparer to join our team. As an Environmental Sample Preparer, you will play a critical role in preparing and analyzing environmental samples using standard analytical techniques.

Job Summary:

The Environmental Sample Preparer will be responsible for preparing and analyzing environmental samples using standard analytical techniques. This includes preparing samples using standard techniques, performing chemical analysis using standard techniques, and evaluating and quantifying data. The successful candidate will also be responsible for recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare samples using standard techniques
  • Perform chemical analysis using standard techniques
  • Evaluate and quantify data
  • Record and report data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance
  • Competency on complex instrumentation instrument specific software (training is provided)
  • Responsible for timely completion of assigned/scheduled QC samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT)
  • As required, documents NCMs for projects with quality issues
  • Works under close supervision using routine and standard methods
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in work area
  • Weighing out and recording sample weights
  • Assisting the prep analysts with sample extractions
  • Preparing extraction supplies
  • Upkeep and cleaning of Promochroms
  • Calibrating pipettes
  • Maintaining a clean and organized laboratory
Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, or ability required.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience
  • Previous experience working in a lab
  • Specific Skills and Abilities:
    • Perform prep/analysis of samples of various matrices for various analytical methods
    • Analyze/prep samples and QC for routine testing
    • Perform basic maintenance on equipment used for routine work
    • Previous experience working in a lab
    • Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
    • Perform calculations with calculator / mathematical formulas
    • Complete work within time and quality constraints
    • Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Demonstrate good problem solving skills
    • Work independently following written or verbal instructions
    • Reading, writing and speaking skills
    • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Work overtime as workload requires
