Job Summary

We are seeking an Industrial Engineering Co-Op to join our team at Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Avionics Integrated Production Teams in the Cedar Rapids, IA facility to resolve flow, product, and quality issues associated with state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques.
  • Design tooling to aid the manufacturing process while utilizing additive manufacturing (3D printing) to support manufacturing needs.
  • Be involved in the analysis of best layout, flow, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
  • Assist in planning the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment.
  • Help in conducting studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

  • Develop and strengthen your ability to both work independently and work with cross-functional teams through various day-to-day tasks and projects.
  • Learn critical time management and prioritization skills necessary to be effective in the industrial engineering field.
  • Learn about planning the sequence of operations for procedures, manufacturing documents, standard work, and product routings.
Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
