The Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurse plays a crucial role within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, which comprises a provider, a behavioral health consultant, a licensed practical nurse (LPN), a registered medical assistant (RMA), a care coordinator, and a patient service representative (PSR) dedicated to a specific group of pediatric patients.
Key responsibilities of the APRN include conducting thorough examinations and diagnosing infants, children, and adolescents in a primary care environment. This role also encompasses the responsibility of ordering necessary laboratory tests and prescribing appropriate medications for primary health concerns. The APRN is expected to deliver outpatient care services in alignment with the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model, ensuring adherence to established PCMH standards.
In this position, the nurse will take on the responsibility for the execution of services that align with the healthcare plan and the strategic objectives of the organization. Active participation in quality improvement initiatives is essential, along with adherence to budgetary constraints and achievement of productivity goals. The APRN is also expected to engage in and support Trail Markers initiatives throughout the organization.
- Licensure: Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Missouri.
- Education: Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, including specialized training as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, with certification from ANCC, NAACOG, or NAPNAP, as mandated by the State of Missouri.
- Certification: CPR/BLS certification is required.
