This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in remote work with occasional in-office collaboration.

The Senior Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Planning Specialist will spearhead the planning and scheduling analysis as well as control activities anticipated during the EPC phase. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and Maintain Schedules: Oversee the creation, upkeep, and monitoring of engineering, procurement, and construction schedules, identifying impacts and formulating recovery strategies.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Conduct EPC phase-related reporting and analysis, including the assessment of P6 schedule quality metrics.
  • Support Planning Studies: Assist in planning studies, forecasts, and project optimization efforts during the EPC phase.
  • Lead Engineering Teams: Guide engineering teams in the development and maintenance of comprehensive project schedules as well as detailed short-term schedules.

Collaboration is key; you will work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Project Controls, and external partners to translate, develop, integrate, and sequence engineering activities into the Integrated Master Control Schedule (IMCS) managed in Primavera P6.

Facilitate Cross-Project Coordination: Coordinate the establishment of cross-system and cross-project logic ties within the schedule, assisting in negotiations between stakeholders regarding technical content and timelines.

Oversight of Engineering Scope: Lead the development and organization of engineering scope schedule fragnets for planning and estimating, ensuring standard application across the project.

Project Management Leadership: Direct project management efforts by conducting integrated reviews of planned work and compiling three-week look-ahead activities.

Review scheduled EPC phase work activities to ensure alignment with project milestones and assess resource loading and leveling for all bulk commodity designs and purchases.

Critical Path Analysis: Analyze critical paths and constraints to evaluate the impact of progress changes on the schedule, recommending solutions to ensure key milestones are met.

Scenario Development: Create "What If" scenarios and recovery plans in response to project activity delays and change requests.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 13 years of professional experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with at least 19 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong expertise in CPM scheduling and advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 software.
  • Experience in preparing, monitoring, and reporting schedule information within engineering, procurement, and construction settings.
  • Proficiency in utilizing computers for executing work processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management, typically acquired through specialized training or practical experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated capability in planning, organizing, and presenting planning and scheduling products independently.

Compensation:

The pay rate for this position is $75.00 per hour. The compensation offered will be determined based on various factors, including education, work experience, location, specific job duties, and certifications.
