Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team at Maxar Technologies. As a key member of our infrastructure engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems that ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement automation playbooks and modules to manage configuration tools and hardening controls in various environments
  • Upgrade, support, and optimize automation tools to create a highly available, resilient, and self-healing environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation tools and their implementation
  • Recommend and implement changes to enhance, stabilize, and secure automation tool operation
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance
  • At least two years of software development or infrastructure engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or two additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Ability to be on call on a rotating basis
  • Linux system admin experience
  • Experience using and/or administrating open-source technologies
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby
  • Ansible Tower or AWX experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. security clearance
  • PowerShell training
  • SCCM experience
  • Group policy experience
  • Imaging baseline experience
  • OS repository experience
  • Cloud environment experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, or other)
  • Experience using Ansible, Satellite, Ubuntu Landscape, or equivalent technologies
  • CI/CD experience
  • Git experience
  • Agile development experience

We also offer a competitive salary range of $94,000 to $200,000 annually, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. This position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved.
