Transportation Security Officer

As a Transportation Security Officer with the Transportation Security Administration, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the traveling public. Your primary responsibility will be to screen passengers and their belongings for prohibited items, while also providing excellent customer service to the public.
Key Responsibilities
• Screen passengers and their belongings for prohibited items using X-ray machines and other screening equipment
• Operate various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and on passengers
• Conduct physical searches and screenings, including pat-downs and searches of property
• Control terminal entry and exit points, ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to secure areas
• Interact with the public, providing directions and responding to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
Requirements
• U.S. citizenship or national status
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift and carry bags and other objects weighing up to 50 pounds
