Position Overview:

This role is essential in executing imaging techniques and supporting the execution of interventional and neuro-interventional procedures across various patient demographics, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. The incumbent will take charge of assigned areas or specific procedures, showcasing the necessary expertise and skills to deliver appropriate care tailored to the patient's age while performing imaging tasks within the Radiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts diagnostic angiographic procedures and assists medical professionals during interventional and neuro-interventional operations, ensuring high-quality imaging.
- Prepares patients for procedures, providing clear explanations of each examination and offering appropriate instructions before, during, and after the procedures.
- Handles, operates, and maintains equipment and technical instruments utilized for administering contrast agents, monitoring patients, and facilitating surgical interventions.
- Adheres to established protocols for procedural documentation.
- Supports radiologists in the administration of medications and contrast agents.
- Reviews each examination for technical precision and completes the verification process in the Picture Archiving Communication System and other related clinical systems.
- Maintains sterile techniques throughout all procedures and ensures the cleanliness of the procedure room and surrounding work areas.
- Takes responsibility for the inventory and management of specific angiography supplies, such as catheters, guide wires, and interventional sets, and orders necessary supplies for the designated area.
- Ensures the safety of patients, staff, and self from excessive exposure, consistently following the "As Low As Reasonably Achievable" (ALARA) guidelines.
- Actively engages in initiatives that enhance safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and professional growth.
- Communicates accurately, promptly, and professionally with supervisors, colleagues, physicians, patients, and all visitors, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality services.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of two (2) years of college education or technical training.
• PREFERRED: At least one (1) year of experience as a Special Procedures Technician.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
• Maintains expertise and proficiency with all interventional and neuro-interventional radiology equipment and procedures through ongoing education and participation in training programs.
• General knowledge of a specialized or technical field typically associated with an A.A. or A.S. degree.
Licensure, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NYS Radiologic Technologist License.
• Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, or eligibility for certification.
Work Schedule:
Full-Time, Standard Hours: 40.00, Day Shift: M-F 8am to 4:30pm, with rotation into on-call duties during nights, weekends, and holidays.
Salary:
$60.73 Hourly
