As a PK Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality early childhood instruction in a Pre-Kindergarten classroom setting, ensuring students develop the skills and competencies needed to succeed in society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Strategies
    • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district curriculum and demonstrate a deep understanding of student learning styles and needs.
    • Plan and deliver instructional activities that reflect accommodations for individual student differences and meet the requirements of the Texas Education Agency.
    • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver educational activities and services to students who require additional support.
  • Student Growth and Development
    • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
    • Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.
  • Classroom Management and Organization
    • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
    • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
    • Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Communication
    • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
  • Professional Growth and Development
    • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
    • Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
    • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification for Early Childhood or PK ESL Certification.
  • Acceptance in an approved Alternative Certification Program (ACP) and passing the required prerequisite examinations for Early Childhood or Pre-K.
  • One year of Pre-K teaching experience (if not certified, a commitment to enroll in an Alternative Certification Program).
