Cognos/TMI Developer Opportunity

A leading health services network in Tennessee is seeking a skilled Cognos/TMI Developer to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex information systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
  • Devise or modify application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements, including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts.
  • Work with business users or business systems analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Maintain technical skill sets for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities, and networks needed to support work assignments.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining application design documents.
  • Respond to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of system analysis, system administration, and/or programming experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Experience with Cognos Analytics, IBM Planning Analytics Local, IBM Planning Analytics Workspace, and TM1.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux RHEL.
  • Knowledge of information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Podman.
  • Experience with SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services SSRS, and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Report writing, cube building, and analysis experience with Cognos.
  • Experience in the health insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of BCBST's basic business operations.
