Job Summary

The U.S. Department of the Interior is seeking a highly skilled Petroleum Enforcement Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations related to oil and gas operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections of oil and gas operations to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare documentation and issue Written Orders and Incidents of Non-Compliance (INC) as necessary.
  • Complete follow-up inspections to verify compliance and recommend further action as needed.
  • Utilize government databases to document inspections and complete enforcement actions.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to verify volumes of drilling fluids and oil/gas volumes.
  • Operate a 4-wheel drive vehicle on unimproved roads and two-tracks to access remote oil and gas facilities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely operate a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

Working Conditions

The Petroleum Enforcement Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, often in remote areas, and will be required to work in a variety of weather conditions.
