Job Summary:

Takes x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and provides support for the imaging department. This position only performs plain films and fluoro.

Responsibilities:

  • Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provides educational material.
  • Transports patients to and from clinical areas, verifies patient identity, and assists technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures, prevents unnecessary radiation exposure, and prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope of practice.
  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, monitors protocols, and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and film storage.
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT technologist is not on site.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification.

Work Environment:

Constant standing and walking, frequent use of vision and depth perception, and occasional lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
