Radiology Technician

Job Summary:
Takes x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and provides support for the imaging department. This position only performs plain films and fluoro.
Responsibilities:
- Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provides educational material.
- Transports patients to and from clinical areas, verifies patient identity, and assists technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams.
- Follows radiation safety procedures, prevents unnecessary radiation exposure, and prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope of practice.
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, monitors protocols, and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and film storage.
- May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT technologist is not on site.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program.
- No experience required.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
- ARRT-R Radiography certification.
Work Environment:
Constant standing and walking, frequent use of vision and depth perception, and occasional lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
