Position Overview:
This role is a senior design engineering opportunity that presents a range of engaging and complex challenges in the field of structural engineering, offering a significant pathway for career advancement.
You will oversee a team of structural engineers, collaborate with professionals from various engineering disciplines, and engage directly with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
You will direct a structural engineering team on projects related to new nuclear facilities as well as upgrades and modifications to existing nuclear power plants in the following domains:
- Utilizing your expertise in materials, structural analysis, and design of structural steel and reinforced concrete.
As part of a collaborative engineering and design team, you will engage in a diverse array of projects for multiple clients.
Your duties will include:
- Preparing, reviewing, and guiding design calculations.
- Developing specifications and collaborating with designers for drawing production.
- Overseeing the structural analysis and design of steel frameworks, connections, concrete elements, equipment, and foundations.
There may be opportunities for you to travel to client and vendor locations for design evaluations and to construction sites for coordination and verification of designs.
Qualifications:
We do not provide sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- A minimum of ten years of experience as part of a project team in the design and analysis of structures for nuclear facilities.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
- Familiarity with design codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, N690, ACI 318, and ACI 349.
- Competence in MS Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience providing on-site construction support.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
