Job Summary

Fulfill patient prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring accurate and comfortable fittings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and analyze patient prescriptions, reviewing historical information for consistency and reasonableness.
  • Recognize and address inconsistencies in prescription history, consulting with doctors as needed.
  • Troubleshoot vision complaints related to eyeglasses and contact lenses.
  • Assist patients in selecting eyewear, considering prescription implications and demonstrating features and benefits.
  • Take accurate optical measurements and explain procedures to customers.
  • Fit eyewear to customer satisfaction and demonstrate proper cleaning and storage techniques.
  • Inspect jobs with a lensometer for prescription verification, requesting corrections as necessary.
  • Manage on-site inventory within budget, including frames, supplies, and accessories.
  • Assist in dispensing contact lenses and maintain knowledge of insurance and safety plans.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of optical field or customer service experience.
Work Environment

Constant standing and walking, frequent use of hearing and speech, and occasional lifting and bending.
