About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Game Operations to join our team at 2K. As a key member of our publishing organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the publishing components that directly impact the development of our games.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal development studios and publishing support teams.
- Support cross-functional projects, providing clear articulation on game delivery projects and desired outcomes.
- Create standard operating procedures and templates for materials as needed.
- Track progress, resolve delays and risks, and escalate when necessary.
- Oversee, manage, develop, and mentor producers and team members.
- Serve as a senior advisor and counselor to the leadership team.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, timelines, and reports.
- Ensure a single source of truth for projects, including roadmaps, calendars, key artifacts, and shared Google drive.
- Manage phase readiness trackers to ensure all team members are aware of key milestone deliverables.
- Develop product and feature budgets and schedules, and maintain forecasts of the budget.
- Ensure adherence to schedules and budgets through enforcement of milestone approval or disapproval.
- Coordinate with industry first-parties to shepherd projects throughout their lifecycle.
- Coordinate with internal support partners to ensure alignment and timely execution of milestone deliverables.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience in internal or external game development or publishing.
- 3+ years of experience working on a Live game or service.
- Experience building and managing relationships with studios, vendors, internal teams, and other external resources.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), time and project management skills.
- Experience shipping console & PC or mobile titles and detailed knowledge of those platforms.
- Ability to assess quality and foresee development challenges at all phases of product development.
- Expected to identify and take ownership of any responsibilities that lie within the scope of the project and are not currently assigned.
- Must demonstrate strong fiscal sense, in leading budget and scope expectations both within the team and to executive management.
- Experience with industry-first parties (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) seeing projects from concept to gold master.
