Alliance Health at Rosewood, a non-profit skilled nursing organization, is seeking a dedicated and experienced healthcare professional to join our leadership team as the Healthcare Unit Supervisor.
We are in search of an individual who demonstrates compassion and possesses strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, and other staff members.
The ideal candidate will be capable of providing daily guidance to nursing personnel, delivering clear and concise information while exercising independent judgment and critical thinking. A collaborative spirit and the ability to work well within a team are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative oversight for the facility during weekends or holiday coverage as necessary.
- Ensure adequate staffing to meet the needs of patients/residents.
- Develop assignments and schedules that align patient/resident needs with staff capabilities.
- Respond effectively to unanticipated patient/resident requirements.
- Assist in preparing the monthly 24-hour nursing schedule for the unit, ensuring minimum staffing levels are maintained and reporting any staffing issues to the Director of Nursing Services.
- Act as a role model and facilitate the development of the Modified Primary/Team Nursing Model.
- Coordinate nursing services with other resident care activities and serve as a clinical advisor in planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care.
- Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all nursing documentation, directing and organizing required Medicare and Medicaid documentation.
- Coordinate and participate in the orientation, education, and evaluation of personnel in collaboration with the Coordinator of Education and Infection Control.
- Review performance and establish performance agreements with nursing staff in accordance with facility policy.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and other departments, interpreting Human Resource policies as needed.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring processes for nursing staff within the unit.
- Ensure that nursing and medical supply needs for the unit are met.
- Assume direct patient/resident care responsibilities as required.
- Administer Mantoux tests to patients/residents and staff members as requested.
- Engage in performance improvement monitoring activities as established by the Nursing Department and PI Council.
- Conduct daily nursing rounds on all patients/residents and communicate with Licensed Practical Nurses regarding their units.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, resident/patient family conferences, discharge planning, and other necessary meetings.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of incident reports from residents/patients, staff, and visitors.
- Edit monthly physician orders, MAR, and treatment records with staff nurses.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of care standards.
- Provide education to residents/patients and their families as needed.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
Additional Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively and garner support from other interdisciplinary team members at the facility.
