Job Title: Service Writer
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Service Writer to join our team at the City of Farmington. As a Service Writer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, coordinating vehicle repairs, and ensuring seamless communication between customers and our maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate and schedule routine and emergency vehicle repairs, ensuring timely completion and effective communication with customers.
- Manage vehicle maintenance records, including scheduling and tracking repairs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Act as a liaison between customers and our maintenance team, providing clear and concise information on vehicle status and repair progress.
- Assist in the ordering of parts and materials, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, providing personalized service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with our maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective vehicle repair and maintenance processes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; specialized training in mechanics, maintenance management, or a related field preferred.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license (or current state of residency) with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
- Knowledge of automotive mechanics, including maintenance and diagnostics.
- Ability to type 30 wpm or at a rate sufficient to perform duties of job.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed primarily inside, with occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Work near moving mechanical parts, with moderate noise levels.
