Job Summary:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing personalized care and support to our residents, including assistance with daily living activities, meal service, and light housekeeping. Responsibilities:- Assist with Daily Living Activities: Provide support with dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene, ensuring our residents maintain their independence and dignity.
- Interact with Residents: Engage with residents at all levels of care, showing empathy, kindness, and respect, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
- Report Changes and Concerns: Observe and report any changes in a resident's health or emotional well-being to the supervisor, ensuring timely interventions and support.
- Support with Meal Service: Assist residents with meal service, ensuring they receive nutritious and enjoyable meals.
- Participate in Leisure Activities: Initiate and participate in leisure activities, such as games, arts, and crafts, to promote socialization and engagement.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensure the community remains clean, safe, and orderly, adhering to established cleaning schedules and protocols.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues, using clear and respectful language, and responding promptly to requests for assistance.
- Support Colleagues: Provide assistance to colleagues when needed, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with one to two years of related experience and/or training.
- Language Ability: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables.
This role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with occasional exposure to blood-borne pathogens. You will be required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear regularly, with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. You may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
