Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Service Mechanic to join our team at Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. This role is responsible for maintaining a fleet of rental equipment, conducting routine visits to Home Depot stores and customer job sites, and performing preventive maintenance and repairs on light rental construction equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to Home Depot store associates and customers, training them in the proper operation of equipment and adhering to all safety requirements.
  • Compliance and Safety: Maintain Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) certifications, accurate parts inventory, and vehicle compliance to company, federal, and driver standards.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment, utilizing technical repair and parts manuals to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate fleet inventory and transfer equipment between locations, utilizing handheld technology to document work performed.
  • Travel and Physical Demands: Travel overnight less than 10% of the time, and work in a comfortable environment with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience servicing construction equipment, with 1 or more years of experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor mechanical repairs.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ability to negotiate and handle complaints, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively with different personality types.
