The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the accomplishments of our researchers and leading public relations with private and public sector stakeholders.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with our Center's director to support strategic initiatives and develop effective communication strategies to engage diverse audiences.

  • Develop and implement public relations strategies to promote the Center's research and achievements.
  • Collaborate with faculty to identify discoveries and scientific breakthroughs to develop stories for traditional and social media outlets.
  • Proactively investigate emerging food safety issues to showcase the work taking place at the Center.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public relations, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with food industry representatives, government officials, and scientists.
  • Write and publish feature stories about the Center's research and achievements.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop stories for traditional and social media outlets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Journalism, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in public relations or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
