SALARY RANGE: $44,200 - $52,000 with Excellent Benefits

LOCATION: TST BOCES Campus
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts a wide range of repairs on buses, cars, trucks, tractors, and various machinery.
- Plans and schedules maintenance tasks to ensure optimal servicing of vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnoses and repairs ignition systems, generators, and regulators.
- Replaces or repairs springs, axles, wheel bearings, transmissions, clutches, heater cores, brake systems, pumps, and carburetors.
- Performs minor welding on vehicle bodies and frames.
- Restores bus exteriors and repairs interiors, including seating and windows.
- Adjusts steering systems and aligns wheels.
- Keeps accurate records of parts and supplies utilized and submits requisitions as necessary.
- May undertake significant engine overhauls.
- May operate a school bus regularly or as a substitute when required.
- Works under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and oversees the work of Automotive Mechanics.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of two years of experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic (completion of a traineeship plus two years of journey-level experience); OR
- Seven years of experience as a skilled automotive mechanic.
- Physical fitness appropriate for the demands of the role.
- Must hold and maintain a valid New York State Driver's License.
