Position Overview:
The Department of Dermatology is seeking a Financial Management Analyst I to join our team in Durham, NC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations:
    Conduct financial reporting and analysis, ensuring alignment with operational budgets. Participate in month-end closing processes, fund code initiation, and manage accounts payable/accounts receivable audits and reconciliations. Serve as the primary contact for ongoing inquiries and audits, and provide training for new personnel. Approve check requests and purchase orders, track invoices, and resolve discrepancies before write-off deadlines. Ensure compliance with check log procedures and manage deposits.
  • Space Management:
    Perform regular walkthroughs and audits of space utilization, maintaining updates in relevant databases. Conduct quarterly reviews and confirmations of space allocations, distributing funding appropriately. Oversee office and laboratory modifications, obtain quotes, negotiate costs, and collaborate with lab administrators for any necessary relocations or adjustments.
  • Equipment Management:
    Maintain and update the inventory of capital equipment, processing order requests for new computers and peripherals for faculty and staff. Negotiate repair and maintenance agreements for both laboratory and non-laboratory equipment, and act as the point of contact for emergency equipment replacements.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related business discipline is required. No prior experience is necessary for candidates holding a relevant degree.
