Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Disability Specialist to join our team at Catholic Charities of Central Washington. As a key member of our early learning program, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment for children with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development and academic success.
  • Develop and implement individualized behavior and safety plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Provide targeted interventions and personalized support to help children build self-regulation and social skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure seamless implementation of behavior plans and best practices.
  • Participate in team planning, staff meetings, and training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest strategies and techniques.

Requirements:

  • AA/AS in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 years' experience working with preschool children with behavioral and developmental concerns.
  • Strong classroom and behavioral management skills, with a focus on supporting children with ASD, SPD, ODD, ADHD, and persistent challenging behaviors.
  • Computer and word processing competence.
  • Required 40 hour training in working with children with ASD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual/Bicultural (Spanish/English) skills.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and trauma.
