Wyffels Hybrids is a leading independent seed corn company headquartered in Geneseo, IL. We specialize in developing and marketing elite corn hybrids, providing growers with exceptional products, agronomic information, and customer service.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Agronomy Intern to join our Product and Agronomy team. The successful candidate will assist in planning and implementing agronomic experiments, maintaining product and agronomy demonstration sites, and participating in customer service calls. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the seed corn industry and develop valuable skills in agronomy, communication, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement agronomic experiments to provide high-quality, unbiased information to customers.
  • Maintain product and agronomy demonstration sites for employee and customer training, and brand awareness.
  • Assist with agronomy training events, preparing and conducting trainings, and gaining experience in presenting agronomic information.
  • Participate in customer service calls, observing and learning about diagnosing issues, interacting with customers, and demonstrating excellent customer service.
  • Design and implement a self-directed intern project to demonstrate knowledge and passion for a specific area of the business.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate student majoring in Agriculture, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in agriculture, sales, research, and/or farming.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of field crop production and agronomy, and proficiency in computer technology.
  • Ability to work in outside conditions, including variable weather, and drive a company vehicle.
