Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team at Ashe Memorial Hospital. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory by collecting and processing specimens from patients. Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and finger-stick procedures.
  • Ensure that all specimens are properly labeled and stored according to laboratory policy.
  • Enter requests and print labels using the Hospital Meditech computer system.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely specimen collection.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of specimen collection and processing.
Requirements
  • CPR certification required.
  • Phlebotomy Certification by an Accredited Agency within 12 months of employment preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Attended a Medical Office Assistance Program and/or a Phlebotomy certification program preferred, and/or some training in Emergency Medicine, and/or experience in Patient Care.
