Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at the Behavioral Center of Michigan. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing Recreational Therapy services to our clients, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic activity interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Establish treatment goals and objectives to meet individual client needs and determine the most effective therapy modality.
  • Evaluate client progress and record results on daily progress notes, adhering to all documentation policies.
  • Develop and apply clinical skills through client interviews, assessments, and observations of patient participation in therapy sessions.
  • Implement individual treatment plans using an interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Display a professional and friendly attitude when communicating with other disciplines and outside agencies.
  • Stay up-to-date with new treatment programs and protocols, and participate in staff development trainings as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an approved program.
  • Certification by the National Certification Board (NCTRC).
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric setting (2 years preferred).
