Position Overview:
Fairview Health Services is seeking a dedicated Critical Care Nurse (CCN) for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specializing in Cardiovascular care. This role is essential in providing high-quality nursing care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
Our ICU caters to individuals recovering from significant cardiac procedures, including but not limited to coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacements, and heart transplants. We also manage patients facing severe heart failure, congenital heart defects, and other critical cardiac issues.
In this role, you will utilize advanced medical technologies such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and various cardiac assist devices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The patient demographic in our unit necessitates proficient hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, and the ability to respond to life-threatening situations with high technical skill.
The starting compensation for this position is competitive, with additional pay differentials for weekend and night shifts.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a commitment of 0.75 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), translating to 60 hours biweekly, with 12-hour shifts during the night and a rotation that includes working every third weekend.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Critical Care Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
1. Assessing patient needs and establishing expected nursing outcomes.
2. Crafting individualized nursing care plans.
3. Implementing necessary interventions based on the care plan.
4. Evaluating patient responses to interventions and adjusting care as needed.
5. Utilizing effective communication strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
6. Collaborating with healthcare team members and delegating tasks appropriately.
7. Advancing care through adherence to standards and guidelines to enhance patient outcomes.
8. Fostering a culture of evidence-based practice by engaging in available professional development opportunities.
9. Performing all duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional practice standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
1. Current RN Licensure in the state.
2. Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
Preferred:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
2. Certification in a relevant specialty area.
3. At least one year of experience in a medical-surgical nursing role within a hospital setting.
4. A minimum of one year of experience in adult critical care nursing.
5. Certification from the American Association of Critical Care Nursing or a related specialty is highly desirable.
