Maintenance Technician Job Description

Milwaukee Forge, LLC is a leading manufacturer of steel forged components, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical theories and principles, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components, including numerical controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of mechanical equipment.
  • Install, start up, and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Advise operators and line mechanics on operation procedures and requirements for working safely with mechanical equipment and components.
  • Maintain company required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Assist and train other maintenance and/or technical level employees.
Work Environment

The Maintenance Technician will work in a manufacturing environment around equipment and machines in a production manufacturing setting. The plant environment includes dust, fumes, heat, and climatic conditions typical in foundries, forge shops, or manufacturing facilities.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in the mechanical or hydraulic or pneumatic fields.
  • High proficiency in mechanical theories and principles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, work beneath machines, and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
  • Highly safety conscientious.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug test.
Education

High school diploma or its equivalent required. Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is required.
