Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions to improve swimmers' skills, techniques, and overall team performance.
  • Training Program Development: Develop and implement effective training programs and meet strategies to enhance team performance.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, supporting their academic and athletic development.
  • Team Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
  • Meet Operations: Manage meet-day operations, including swimmer preparation, in-race adjustments, and post-race analysis.
  • Travel and Logistics: Coordinate travel arrangements and accompany the team to swim meets and competitions.
  • Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices, meets, and travel.
  • Communication and Administration: Communicate regularly with club officers and university staff regarding team activities, schedules, and administrative matters.
Requirements
  • Coaching Experience: Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience in competitive swimming, preferably at the club or collegiate level.
  • Certifications: Must possess a Swim Coaching Certification (i.e. USA Swimming, ASCA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPR and First Aid Certification: CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Technical Skills: Experience working with the Colorado Timing System and using Team Manager software.
