- Execute scrub responsibilities and assist in patient care within the Operating Room, collaborating closely with a registered nurse.
- Prepare and organize necessary supplies and equipment for surgical interventions.
- Implement principles of aseptic technique effectively.
Core Job Functions:
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new team members and, when applicable, mentor colleagues based on your experience.
- Strategically plan and arrange required instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Exhibit expertise in managing instruments, supplies, and equipment utilized in surgical settings.
- Conduct skin preparation tasks as directed.
- Assist in the positioning and draping of patients for specific surgical procedures.
- Accurately manage medications passed onto the sterile field under the supervision of a nurse.
- Perform precise counts of instruments, sponges, and sharp items in collaboration with a Registered Nurse.
- Carry out scrub duties, including instrument handling, retractor holding, cutting sutures, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Support the transport of blood products and specimens to and from the laboratory.
- Ensure the proper handling of surgical specimens.
- Execute all responsibilities in accordance with established standards of sanitation, safety, and proper handling methods, including sterilization and high-level disinfection procedures.
- Provide support to the Registered Nurse as directed.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Surgical Tech certification is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.
Experience/Pre-Requisites:
- Previous experience in the Operating Room is preferred.
Compensation:
$28.35/hour
