As a Fraud Risk Investigator, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity and security of financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include investigating, analyzing, and working to mitigate fraudulent activities within the payment landscape. You will collaborate closely with various internal and external teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support management in achieving strategic business goals.
- Assist in the rollout of fraud prevention products and initiatives.
- Provide consultation and training regarding fraud incidents, programs, products, or trends for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze fraud trends to identify irregularities and aid in developing preventative strategies with partners.
- Represent Discover at industry conferences and events.
- Collect, organize, and manage documentation related to your work.
- Prepare and review materials for audits and internal business assessments.
- Draft technical documents related to training, incidents, and other necessary materials.
- Investigate alerts generated by fraud detection systems.
- Utilize fraud detection tools and technologies effectively.
- Assist in identifying emerging threats, fraud prevention strategies, and training methodologies.
- Stay informed about regulatory requirements.
- Support leadership functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Security, Risk Management, Information Systems Administration, Criminal Justice, Decision Analytics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in Fraud, Information Security, Engineering, Criminal Justice, Decision Analytics, or a related field.
- Alternatively, 6+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas may substitute for a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
We would also appreciate the following:
- A Master's Degree in Security, Risk Management, Information Systems Administration, Criminal Justice, Decision Analytics, or a related field.
- Over 6 years of experience in Fraud, Information Security, Engineering, Criminal Justice, Decision Analytics, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as PCIP, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI).
- Proficiency in SnowFlake or SQL programming languages.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
Compensation:
The base salary for this position typically ranges from $75,500.00 to $127,000. Additional incentives may be part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may influence the pay for this role.
