As a Medical Equipment Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring that medical equipment is functioning properly to provide the best possible healthcare to our Soldiers.
The equipment you will work with will involve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, digital, optical, and radiological principles. Your duties may include:
- Performing preventive maintenance checks
- Troubleshooting malfunctioning or defective medical equipment
- Determining power and space requirements for medical equipment installations
- Installing medical equipment
- Preparing and submitting medical equipment reports
You will have the opportunity to develop skills and experience that can be applied to a civilian career as an electronic instrument repairer with manufacturing, medical research, satellite communications firms, or commercial airline companies.
Through your training, you will learn the skills and knowledge to repair and maintain medical equipment, including electrical and electronic test equipment. You will also have the opportunity to earn certifications as a Certified Electronics Technician at the Associate Level or Journeyman Level-Medical.
As a Medical Equipment Specialist, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to providing the best possible healthcare to our Soldiers. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of medical equipment and to develop skills and experience that can be applied to a civilian career.
