About the Role

TMS International is a leading provider of on-site industrial steel mill services, and we're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Darlington, SC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on equipment, including conveyors, furnaces, and hydraulic systems.
  • Execute welding and fabrication tasks to repair and improve machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety in the workplace.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a steel mill or heavy industrial environment.
  • Proficient in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and fabrication techniques.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
