About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our team at Award Staffing in Ramsey, MN. As a Laser Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser equipment, ensuring high-quality production and meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and adjust laser equipment according to specifications and guidelines.
  • Load raw materials and unload finished products from the laser.
  • Perform visual inspections of raw materials and finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Report any shortages or poor-quality materials to the lead or supervisor.
  • Accurately count and record all pieces to ensure no extra or missing parts.
  • Tag completed jobs with date, quantity, and producer's name.
  • Report supply needs and equipment breakdowns to the lead or supervisor.
  • Maintain all equipment in the department according to guidelines and complete daily PM logs.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Operate hoist and manual pallet jack as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication and/or laser operation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
  • Ability to read tape measure, blueprints, and process sheets in both standard and metric.
  • Effective communication skills in English (speak, read, write, and understand).
  • Computer skills necessary to operate the laser computer.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include lifting up to 30lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally, walking, standing, reaching overhead, climbing stairs, and grasping tools as necessary. You must be able to submit to a comprehensive vision exam.
