Architectural Drafter

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Architectural Drafter to join our team at Shickel Corporation. As a CAD Drafter, you will play a critical role in turning complex engineering concepts into detailed, precise designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and drafting team members to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and related documents.
• Utilize advanced CAD software to create detailed submittal and fabrication drawings that are clear, accurate, and ready for production.
• Assist project managers and engineers with material estimations, pricing, cut lists, and labor costs.
• Conduct precise calculations, including angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, and tolerances.
• Order and verify the timely receipt of parts and materials, ensuring all components are available for the project to move forward without delays.
• Investigate past projects and new technologies to support engineering solutions and improve the overall efficiency of designs.
• Follow safety guidelines and best practices outlined in the Shickel Corporation Safety Manual.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration with cross-functional departments.
• Ensure that every project complies with the Shickel Quality Management System.

Qualifications:

• Certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) or equivalent, combined with 1-3 years of related experience in mechanical drafting or a similar field.
• Proficient in computer-aided drafting software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent), with a strong understanding of mechanical drawing principles and construction documents.
• Ability to apply algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to solve complex design problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to effectively interpret technical documents, draft clear reports, and communicate with team members, clients, and vendors.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess design issues, resolve technical challenges, and make informed decisions based on available data.
