The Director of Cabin Interior Engineering plays a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive lifecycle of our Cabin Interior program across our fleet. This position entails the evaluation, cost assessment, and implementation of modifications and repairs to various interior components, including seating, galleys, storage solutions, and lavatory systems. The Director will provide essential technical engineering services and troubleshooting support to various departments, ensuring seamless operations and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the full lifecycle management of cabin interior modifications and repairs.
- Conduct thorough investigations and cost analyses for interior equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Inflight Services, and Flight Operations, to ensure alignment on customer-focused projects.
- Ensure compliance with United and Federal Aviation Regulations regarding interior configurations.
- Monitor and enhance the reliability of interior components to maintain operational excellence.
- Lead complex project management initiatives, coordinating supplier technical data and modification programs across multiple aircraft types.
- Foster team development to enhance talent and technical expertise within the Interiors Engineering team.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies, ensuring effective communication with interior equipment suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Aviation Management or Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years in senior management roles.
- At least 7 years of engineering experience, with a strong understanding of FARs and aircraft design principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience leading engineering teams in the aviation sector.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong commitment to safety and service excellence.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
