Job Title: Child Abuse Prevention Coordinator

Join the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in a critical role that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.

About the Role:

The Child Abuse Prevention Coordinator is a key member of the Office for Child and Youth Protection, responsible for coordinating and implementing the Safe Environment Program. This program aims to prevent child abuse and promote healing through education, training, and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including parishes, schools, and community organizations.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to Archdiocesan entities to implement abuse prevention policies.
  • Conduct trainings and presentations related to abuse prevention, using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Manage internal databases, gather data, and complete reports to inform program evaluation and improvement.
  • Assist with auditing of parishes, schools, and other entities to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Represent the organization to the public in a professional manner, promoting the importance of child safety and protection.
  • Support office efforts to prevent child abuse and promote healing through various methods, including serving on office committees and workgroups.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Working knowledge of and comfort with Catholic faith and parish life is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop plans of action/correction.
  • Ability to organize work, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with child physical and sexual abuse related matters and prevention.
  • Computer proficiency with strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:

This position is expected to be carried out Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some evenings and weekends as needed.

The physical demands of this role include occasional standing, walking, sitting, and lifting office products and supplies up to 30lbs.
