Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pizza Cook to enhance our Back of House (BOH) team.


In this role, you will be tasked with crafting food items in alignment with established recipes and standards. Your responsibilities will include preparing culinary creations with the appropriate techniques, quality, and quantity of ingredients, while adhering to the company's quality protocols and current health regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, portion, and cook food items to meet quality specifications.
  • Follow recipes as outlined in the company manual.
  • Evaluate ingredients for freshness and quality, ensuring proper rotation.
  • Ensure that selected ingredients meet the brand's quality standards.
  • Oversee the performance of team members in executing their tasks.
  • Participate in team briefings.
  • Maintain inventory records for production lines.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Operate kitchen equipment following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues with equipment.

Specific Duties

  • Manage guest orders in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu and all food offerings.
  • Stock and maintain designated food stations.
  • Visually inspect all food items before they leave the kitchen.
  • Adhere to proper food handling and storage practices in compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure proper rotation of raw materials.
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness in coolers and storage areas.
  • Prepare the list of ingredients needed for the next day's production.
  • Plan and execute daily food production.
  • Request supplies as needed, following established procedures.
  • Collaborate with the chef on assigned tasks.
  • Ensure that every dish meets the brand's quality standards in flavor, presentation, and portioning.
  • Perform line work while adhering to hygiene standards.
  • Store consumables and cooked items according to procedures.
  • Ensure all food is stored properly before closing.
  • Utilize kitchen resources efficiently to minimize waste.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Learn and understand menus, recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Cook only sufficient quantities to meet expected demand while maintaining quality.
  • Prepare food for other kitchen departments as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area, including all surfaces and equipment.

Position Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Agreement to undergo a background check.
  • Availability during peak hours, including lunch and dinner shifts.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Expectation to work over 35 hours per week, with potential variations.

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Food Safety Certification is required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year in a kitchen environment, with experience in food handling and preparation; familiarity with Italian cuisine is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a similar role, particularly with pizza preparation, is desirable.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods.

Skills

  • Ability to accurately follow recipe procedures.
  • Capability to prepare a variety of dishes using diverse cooking methods.
  • Commitment to following safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Willingness to complete assigned prep work efficiently.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to perform all functions outlined above.
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, lifting items up to 45 pounds, and repetitive motions.
  • Comfortable working with hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment.
