Position Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Superintendent to take charge of all maintenance operations for a designated property. This role is crucial in ensuring a well-maintained living environment that meets the expectations of residents and property owners alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing a vibrant community atmosphere that guarantees high levels of resident satisfaction and positive service feedback.
  • Exemplifying the core values of Barkan through professional conduct and leadership.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with residents, team members, and service providers.
  • Overseeing the negotiation and management of contracts and services essential for property operations, ensuring compliance with all standards.
  • Coordinating and executing timely responses to service requests to uphold resident satisfaction.
  • Managing unit turnover processes effectively.
  • Implementing regular cycle painting for both interior and exterior areas.
  • Establishing and supervising a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conducting plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and special projects as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory levels for supplies and materials.
  • Overseeing janitorial services and grounds maintenance.
  • Performing regular inspections of the property and scheduling necessary maintenance tasks.
  • Supervising third-party vendors to ensure quality service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in maintenance roles, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general operations.
  • Experience in customer service is essential.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage external contractors and vendors.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Experience with property management software, such as Yardi, is preferred.
  • Uniforms will be provided as part of the role.
