Job Title: Spanish Language Instructor

Piedmont Global Language Solutions (PGLS) is seeking a highly qualified Spanish Language Instructor to teach an intensive, one-on-one course for an adult professional onsite in Ventura, CA.

This position is ideal for a motivated and experienced language educator who can adapt to the needs of a single student and provide personalized instruction.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Spanish language courses to adult English-speaking students using the communicative approach to language learning.
  • Assess the learning style of each student and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of each student.
  • Use various computer platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting software (Zoom, Skype, MS Teams), to facilitate instruction.
  • Work independently and effectively as part of a distributed team.
  • Provide regular feedback and progress updates to students and management.
Requirements:
  • Educated native or bilingual speaker of Spanish.
  • 2+ years of classroom experience teaching Spanish language to adult English-speaking students.
  • 1+ year(s) of teaching experience in a small-group classroom setting.
  • Familiarity with the communicative approach to language learning, ILR proficiency scale levels, and OPI assessments.
  • Familiarity with various computer platforms and virtual meeting software.
