Job Summary

As a Maintenance Mechanic A, you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks and work orders on all assigned facilities and equipment. This includes ensuring all equipment and facilities are operating effectively and efficiently, making sure all equipment meets standards, codes, and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for carrying out duties in a productive manner, learning skills available through training and job shadowing, and entering work into the computer maintenance system throughout the work shift. Additionally, you will perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems as necessary, and be proficient in performing preventative and predictive maintenance with little or no assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are operating effectively and efficiently
  • Carry out duties in a productive manner and learn skills available through training and job shadowing
  • Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout the work shift
  • Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems as necessary
  • Be proficient in performing preventative and predictive maintenance with little or no assistance

Requirements

  • Prior experience in mechanical areas
  • Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable
  • Familiarity/experience in maintenance environment
  • Elevated experience, expertise, and proficiency in one or more of the following areas: safety, electrical, refrigeration, material handling, mechanical, welding, fire systems, and domestic water/waste water

Preferred Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Successful completion of assessment evaluation to demonstrate experience and proficiency in areas or tasks assigned
  • Good communication, verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of schematic / blueprint documents
  • Ability to communicate and complete required record keeping functions
  • Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to gain knowledge and learn more complex tasks as experience is gained over time
  • Able to supply own tools to complete required work
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Be able to provide guidance / coordination with the operation and maintenance staff
