Job Summary:

The Electric Machinery Company is seeking a skilled Painter and Assembler to join our Assembly Team on a 2nd shift schedule. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and painting parts and materials to meet internal and external specification standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mix and prepare painting materials, such as filler, primer, paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, epoxies, and other similar materials.
  • Prepare parts to be painted by cleaning, sandblasting, filling, washing, shellacking, and priming.
  • Review specifications from manufacturing information sheets, order forms, and government specifications.
  • Paint with appropriate spray guns or brushes.
  • Schedule, maintain accurate shelf life inventories, audit paint inventories, and perform other duties related to paint classification in a timely, accurate, and safe manner.
  • Work in other areas of the Assembly Team Matrix, may assemble parts and machinery, procure lumber, shipping cartons, shipping supplies, and tools.
  • Prepare and package shipments in boxes, skids, or crates.
  • Complete necessary QA/Customer documentation.
  • Lift and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, or jib cranes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work.
  • Perform to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abide by OSHA and EPA regulations.

Requirements:

  • High School degree or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year commercial painting experience.
  • Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation.
  • Ability to use thickness gauges and viscosity meters.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while painting.
  • Knowledge of liquid measurements and basic math.

Physical Requirements:

  • Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Routinely ascends/descends ladders and stairs.
  • Occasionally works at heights or on platforms.
  • Occasionally positions self in various workspaces, including low, tight, or confined spaces.
  • Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Routinely uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands, or fingers to operate machinery or tools.
  • Occasionally moves from one work station to another to accomplish tasks.
