Job Title: WGL Engineer I (Distribution)

Job Summary:
The WGL Engineer I (Distribution) is an entry-level position that requires sound engineering principles, good communication and analytical skills. The successful candidate will assist higher-level engineers in performing design analyses and engineering calculations on portions of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development and update of piping and equipment standards and specifications.
• Manage small-scale projects, including financial planning, scheduling, equipment specification, and procurement.
• Perform engineering analysis and equipment selection, piping design, etc., at the direction of senior engineers or the production manager.
• Assist in the writing of engineering standards and specifications.
• Develop and deliver presentations to report project statuses to various audiences.
• Coordinate the collection of documentation for existing and future engineering pipeline projects.
• Stay current with new PHMSA regulations and advisory bulletins and assist with implementation of new requirements.
• Perform project management tasks, including project scheduling, scope of work development, and budget forecasting.
• Support senior compliance specialists on reports, audits, and program reviews.
• Utilize and develop proficiency with DOT 192, OSHA PSM, and other regulations in the performance of work assignments.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 0-2 years of experience in piping systems design, industrial process equipment, system modeling, risk analysis, failure analysis, or construction preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners.
• Demonstrated ability to logically analyze and solve narrowly defined business problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write and present logically and concisely to all levels within an organization.
• Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, for data management, research, analysis, and reporting purposes.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in a multiple-person team on a college project prior to graduation.
