Job Summary:
OI Infusion is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Assistant to support our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various administrative and clinical tasks, including lab work, referrals, scheduling, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process lab samples following established protocols and ensure accurate labeling and documentation.
  • Manage patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
  • Follow up on referral appointments and communicate with patients regarding their referral status.
  • Document all findings accurately in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of medical and office supplies, placing orders as needed.
  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival, providing excellent customer service.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting copayments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EMR system.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration or medical assisting is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare administrative or medical assistant role.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems and other office software.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures.

Working Conditions:
This role is a part-time position, working 2 days a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays) with hours from 8:00am-4:30pm.
