Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and controlling inventory levels, processing purchasing requisitions, and providing sourcing recommendations. This role will also assist with sourcing and onboarding new suppliers, preparing and issuing purchase orders, and managing purchases to ensure timely delivery and resolution of shipment errors. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Science, proficiency in SAP, and prior experience working in a medical manufacturing facility or with FDA experience. Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work under pressure and with all levels of personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to determine planning of reorders needed.
  • Process internal purchasing requisitions for materials and services.
  • Provide sourcing recommendations for materials and/or services based on an Approved Supplier List.
  • Assist with sourcing and onboarding new suppliers.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders by adhering to approved/released internal specifications and specified supplier sourcing.
  • Manage purchases by monitoring expected deliveries and expediting/adjusting when necessary.
  • Monitor receipt of items by comparing items received in system to items ordered; resolve/reconcile shipment errors with receiving department and/or suppliers.
  • Authorize/reconcile payments for purchases through verification of receipts.
  • Maintain records of purchase orders through accurate filing documents.
  • Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in SAP within the Purchasing Modules as well as Material Master.
  • Prior experience working in a medical manufacturing facility and/or with FDA experience preferred.
  • 5 years working in a Purchasing/Buyer role.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Excellent negotiator.

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel.
Training Requirements
  • Undergo all formal Training Events as may be directed from time-to-time.
  • Observe and comply with all Sirtex Corporate Policies.
  • Work within, and ensure adherence to Quality System procedures, work instructions and other Quality System requirements.
  • Work within, and ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment Management System procedures, instructions and other requirements.
