Position Overview
The Caf Kitchen Associate plays a crucial role in our kitchen operations, focusing on food preparation and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. This position is essential for ensuring that our kitchen is well-stocked and organized, contributing to the overall success of our culinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of in-house pastries.
- Set up cooking stations and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Prepare food according to chef specifications and established recipes.
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients accurately.
- Cook menu items using various techniques such as grilling, frying, and sautéing, adhering to quality standards.
- Manage food inventory, ensuring freshness and compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly with management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all back-of-house areas.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role within a full-service restaurant.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Basic math skills for measuring and preparing ingredients.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to industry changes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with point-of-sale systems is a plus.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- ServSafe certification is preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires standing and walking for extended periods in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Team members must be able to manage multiple priorities while ensuring a high standard of food quality and safety.
