Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance, repair, and construction activities for buildings and facilities.
  • Care for and maintain a chicken coop and its inhabitants, including daily cleaning, feeding, and watering.
  • Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, glazing, masonry, and painting tasks.
  • Ensure work sites are clean, safe, and organized.
  • Provide guidance to temporary staff or substitutes as needed.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant education, training, and experience in building trades.
  • Valid driver's license with proof of insurability.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of small garden watering and irrigation systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic math, OSHA safety regulations, and standards.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to evaluate facility conditions and take appropriate actions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with team members and stakeholders.
  • Capability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments, adapting to different weather conditions.
  • Willingness to engage with staff and the public regularly.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for operating tools and entering data.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and climb as necessary.

This role requires versatility, physical strength, and a commitment to safety and quality maintenance practices.
