Job Overview

Position Summary

The Youth Care Worker I plays a crucial role in delivering direct support services to residents, aiding professional personnel in executing tailored treatment strategies, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the residential program.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Instructs and observes behaviors/skills in alignment with personalized treatment strategies utilizing the Psycho-Educational Model (PEM).
  2. Demonstrates suitable interactions with youth and colleagues.
  3. Imparts knowledge on meal preparation and essential life skills.
  4. Participates in consultation meetings.
  5. Ensures a secure living and educational environment for youth (e.g., conducting bed checks, facilitating recreational and educational activities).
  6. Addresses the medical and physical needs of the youth.
  7. Assists in compiling youth documentation and reports (e.g., clinical summaries, behavioral assessments, discharge documentation, incident reports).
  8. Facilitates the processing of documents related to youth intake and exit.
  9. Engages in Safe Crisis Management as required.
  10. Maintains and updates youth records.
  11. Contributes to shift transition discussions.
  12. Attends weekly staff meetings and daily feedback sessions.
  13. Transports youth to various locations including school, appointments, and outings.

Supervisory Role

This position does not entail any supervisory duties.

Compensation

Hourly wage of $18.00, with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential. Further compensation may be available based on relevant residential experience and/or possession of a Bachelor's degree.

Educational Background

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; alternatively, 1-3 months of related experience and/or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

SCM certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and a valid driver's license are required.
