The Heart & Vascular Institute at Tampa General Hospital, in collaboration with the University of South Florida, is seeking a distinguished cardiologist specializing in Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS), and Transplantation.
Team Composition
Our department comprises a robust team of 11 cardiologists focused on heart failure and transplantation, alongside 3 heart failure surgeons and 13 advanced practice providers, ensuring comprehensive 24/7 hospital coverage. We are proud to host an ACGME accredited Advanced Heart Failure fellowship.
Clinical Practice
Our expanding ambulatory practice serves over 15,000 patients annually, featuring specialized clinics such as:
- Amyloid Cardiomyopathy Clinic
- Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic
- HFpEF Clinic
- Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic
- Cardio-Oncology
- Genetic Cardiomyopathy Clinic

Institutional Background
Tampa General Hospital and the University of South Florida represent the only academic medical center on Florida's West Coast. Our heart transplant program is among the oldest and largest in the nation, having successfully completed over 1600 heart transplants and implanted 800 LVADs.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will qualify for the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. While graduating fellows are encouraged to apply, a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in transplant and MCS is preferred. Candidates should be board certified or eligible in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant, possess a focused academic and clinical interest, and demonstrate proficiency in performing endomyocardial biopsies and right heart catheterizations. Leadership experience or potential is highly valued.
This role encompasses 0.9 clinical responsibilities with 0.1 dedicated to research development.
