POSITION TITLE: Process Improvement Manager

REPORTS TO: General Manager

Summary
  • Direct and oversee ongoing process enhancement initiatives aimed at maximizing cross-functional and cross-divisional efficiency utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Manage programs that document essential work processes and methodologies. Ensure a systematic approach to maintaining high-quality service and product uniformity for the customer base. Develop and sustain necessary procedures, descriptions, and related documentation.
  • Evaluate quality performance, extract and analyze performance metrics, and publish reports that reflect organizational performance against established objectives. Foster effective two-way communication channels with key personnel across the organization.
  • Propose process-related design modifications and pinpoint opportunities to refine existing procedures, working instructions, and associated tools to align with the demands of an evolving workflow and product market.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and concentrate on core business improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction. Analyze and implement solutions to business challenges, ensuring that corrective and preventive action processes fulfill their primary objective of customer satisfaction, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement.
  • Influence all management levels positively to ensure that personnel training needs are effectively recognized. Guarantee that staff receives the necessary training to develop and demonstrate functional competencies.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to negative trends in customer and supplier complaints.
  • Effectively manage the Corrective and Preventive Action process.
  • Oversee, analyze, and maintain Inspection Test techniques to ensure continuity of specified product characteristics.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of 5S and housekeeping initiatives.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of waste reduction programs.
  • Examine manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiencies.
  • Track training requirements across all functional areas and maintain records of completed training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Decision-Making Authority
  • The Process Improvement Manager is a collaborator and team builder who works closely with the management team.
  • This manager has the authority to request corrective actions from all employees involved in the Quality Management System.
  • This position also holds the authority to interview and audit all organizational functions and their historical KPIs to confirm compliance with established procedures and explore improvement opportunities.
  • This manager has the authority to halt manufacturing if non-conforming products are being produced and possesses disciplinary action authority.
  • Interactions with Customers and Contacts:
  • The Process Improvement Manager must maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Creativity in thinking is essential to devise better ways to serve customers. Internal and external customers must be treated with respect, keeping in mind the primary goal of safely delivering quality products, services, and experiences.
Job Requirements:

Computer Skills: Proficient in Pratt Quality Software
  • Strong self-development skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Office, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Communication Skills: - Verbal presentation skills for small to large meetings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication for customer interactions.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to determine data needs, collect, assess, and convert data into useful statistical information using statistical summaries, regression analyses, Pareto diagrams, or more advanced statistical tools.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
