About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at Allan Myers. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for planning and supporting the completion of assigned construction engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with the project team to develop effective plans and schedules for constructing the project and determine the means and methods necessary to meet project goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information and disseminate to the project team, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design details.
  • Material Management: Identify, order, and coordinate delivery of permanent materials such as pipe, stone, reinforcing steel, beams, etc. Work with the project team and purchasing department to ensure that all required purchase orders and subcontracts are finalized in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • RFI and Submittal Process: Manage the RFI and submittal process, including establishment and maintenance of project control logs in CMiC.
  • Financial Management: Process owner billings and project-related accounting tasks.
  • Change Order Management: Assist the project manager with development of change orders and related documentation.
  • Safety Compliance: Monitor all work, including subcontractors, for safety compliance in conjunction with the safety manager. Maintain project safety files and review the project schedule for activities requiring special safety measures.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a construction management (estimating, operations, and/or engineering) role. Heavy civil experience preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related major, or equivalent required. Continuing education in construction is highly desirable.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30 hour required. FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification preferred.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of contract administration systems, job cost management, change order management, labor & equipment reporting, planning, and scheduling, preconstruction planning, safety policies and procedures, and safe work procedures.
